SB Spell Descriptions |
This is not an individual spell list for each class. This is a overall spell list in Shadowbane that encompasses everything that a class can possible effect/alter with a spell and a short description of it. The spells are listed in categories:
Defensive (Shields, Damage Shields, etc...)
Personal Armor Buff - Increases resistances to various damage types and increases Defense.
Damage Shield - Surrounds target in a shield that deals damage to anything that attacks them with that particular damage type.
Damage Absorber - Adds to target's damage absorption, thereby reducing the damage that they are dealt in combat.
Resistance Buff - Adds to target's resistance of a certain magic damage type, thereby enabling them to resist that magic more frequently.
Movement and Spells (Haste, Mez, Root, etc...)
Paralyze/Stun - Stops target from moving, attacking, or doing anything for the duration of the spell.
Root - Stops target from moving around until the target is attacked or root ends.
Snare - Slows targets movement speed, thereby allowing you more time before target reaches you.
Haste Buff - Speeds up target's run speed for duration of spell.
Mesmerize - Stops target from moving, attacking, or doing anything until target is attacked or Mez ends.
Fear - Makes NPC target run away from caster for duration of spell.
Teleportation - Makes caster or group teleport from current location to wherever the blue box on the mini-map is located.
Recall - Makes target or group recall their tree of life.
Offensive Damage Spells
Damage Over Time - Deals damage every set number of seconds for duration of spell.
Damage Over Time and Debuff - Combination: Deals damage every set number of seconds for duration of spell and Lowers the targets specified attribute value, thereby negatively affecting them based on the attribute lowered.
Damage over Time, Root, and Debuff - Combination: Deals damage every set number of seconds for duration of spell, stops target from moving around until the target is attacked or root ends and lowers the targets specified attribute value, thereby negatively affecting them based on the attribute lowered.
Mana Damage Over Time - Reduces the target's available Mana at set intervals for duration of spell.
Damage Resistance Debuff - Lowers targets resistance to damage type, thereby making target lose more health when attacked with spells of that damage type.
Attribute Debuff - Lowers the targets specified attribute value, thereby negatively affecting them based on the attribute lowered.
Mana Drain - Reduces the target's available Mana.
Health Drain - Lowers target's health value and returns some health to caster.
Direct Damage and Stun - Combination: Deals damage in a single blast as well as stops target from moving, attacking, or doing anything for the duration of the spell.
Direct Damage and Snare - Combination: Deals damage in a single blast as well as slowing target's movement speed, thereby allowing you more time before target reaches you.
Attack Speed Debuff - Lowers the target's attack speed, thereby having them hit you less over a span of time.
Beneficial Spells (Buffs, Heals and Dispels)
Dispel Poison/Disease/Blindness/Effect - Cancels or nullifies the specified thing (poison, effect, etc.)
Attribute Buff - Raises the targets specified attribute value, thereby positively affecting them based on the attribute raised.
Heal Target - Increases target's health.
Mana Regen - Speeds up the mana regeneration of target, i.e. less downtime.
Attack Speed Buff - Increases target's speed of attack, thereby allowing them to hit more times over a span of time.
Health/Mana Transfer - Caster transfers some of their health or mana to target.
Resurrection - Revives a dead player and allows them to automatically be back where they died.
Target Behavior Alterations
Amnesia - Target NPC "forgets" it hates you, thereby allowing another the pull mob aggression towards them.
Lull/Aggro Reducer - Target NPC is less likely to attack you when in visible range.
Confusion - Target NPC no longer attacks you necessarily but has a frenzy and attacks everything it sees sporadically.
Charm NPC - Brings NPC under your will and allows you to control the NPC as a pet.
Blindness - Target is unable to "see", thereby lowering their casting and shooting range.
Miscellaneous
Summon Pet - Brings a pet to caster's
location that will follow and protect caster until either the caster dies or
the pet dies.
Personal Invisibility - Allows caster to become
invisible until he attacks.
Health to Stamina Conversion - Converts Health
to Stamina allowing you to be able to sprint or do more melee styles with stamina
by giving up health.
Flight - Allows target or group to float up and
fly around the world for a duration.
Stamina to Health Conversion - Converts Stamina
to Health allowing you to be able to survive longer by sacrificing stamina.
Transformation - Allows caster or target to change
into another form.
